It's been a while...

Wed Jun 18, 2008, 3:52 PM
... since my last journal. God I'm a lazy dA journal writer. In the 2.5 half years I've been here, I've written 42 journals, one in 2005, 36 in 2006, 4 in 2007 and 1 in 2008. This'll be journal 43, number 2 of 2008.

Anywho, I'm steadily climbing to 10k pageviews, which is nice, seeing as I haven't been very active lately. Must mean my work is appreciated by some... I've been off photography for a while, doing some shooting for events etc but nothing dA worthy. I'll probably get back to it when the weather gets better here. On the other hand, I've been working on my webdevelopment skills, but again, nothing dA worthy, as there's no category for code.

I've realised I'd better use more able designers in the future for my projects and just stick to the coding. As an addition to my PHP and MySQL skills, I've started working with the CodeIgniter framework. Must say I'm digging it so far. I've also set myself the goal of learning jQuery coming summer holidays. Said that last year too though... I'm working on a few projects, one site I designed myself, it's nearly done and I'll post it when it's finished.

I'm also trying to redesign my own site, but it's just not working. I've tried dozens of designs so far, but nothing was to my liking. Very annoying and frustrating, I must say. When I finally have a layout though, I won't be using WordPress any longer. Time to code my own backend.

I also almost got a job at a Belgian webdesign company. Almost, some other guy got it as he could stay as a fulltime employee after the holiday, and I'm just a silly student who has to go back to school next september. So if anyone knows a company who needs a coder, or if you need one yourself...

That's about it for my crazy 2am ramblings.

... no longer a subscriber. I'll buy a new one the moment I get some cash on my paypal though, cuz I like the 120 thumbnails and CSS...

... going snowboarding from today till next week. I might buy little camera there and try shooting some images. Not counting on it though.

... looking forward to all the deviations and messages when I get back. Let's hope there's a few favs among them :p

That's about it. Latero!

New website

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 23, 2007, 9:17 AM
My new website is finally finished. After brooding over many designs, I finally went with this one. Didn't build my own CMS either this time, I'm going wordpress style, oh yeah!

So, what do you think about it?

Head on over to the new bramme.net

Oh, and I also, finally, have my temporary driver's license! Hooray for me. On to learning to drive.

New things

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 10, 2007, 2:31 PM
New things are happening! And I love it. Together with 2 other people (one friend from MickM) I started Designer's Core. *Kwaku and =Nikeos have been designing logotypes for us and our website is currently in the make. Check back on designerscore.net as often as you can!

I've also gotten a new sub, with my first fee from DC.

And as you can see, I've also got myself some CSS, it's currently a simple color scheme, but I'm thinking of adding some other stuff too. So stay tuned!

Modern Times

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 2, 2007, 12:28 AM
Okay, so its' august. My previous journal entry was from January. Where I used to post new journals every month, it's been 8 now. I've been cutting back on posting stuff, I've been cutting back on the internet in general.
But it's time to get my life back on track! Fuck my social life, I'm an internet addict and I love it [/sarcasm].

I've moved a lot to my scraps yesterday, reviewing my old gallery, and I'm thinking of even removing everything that's not a photo, but then otherwise some of my digital work is my most favourited... How could I remove those?

I've been shooting a while now with my 300D and I'm really liking it. I've only discovered the possibilities of RAW yesterday, so I'll be trying that out more often from now on. I'm also getting a little money together to buy a new lens/some filters.

To get my ass out of my chair more often to go out and do some photography, I'm thinking of enrolling in a few clubs, to start off with:

:iconsunsets:

That's about it. Peace out.

PS: damn i need to get a subscription again. And I know modern times is a bob dylan album.
